Finishing what solar started

A California battery company run by the two people who answer the phone.

Solari Storage was founded in January 2026 by Mady Jacobs and Stephen Waltrip, both of whom came up through the California solar industry. The company is based in Southern California and works with install partners in Sacramento, Bakersfield, Fresno, Anaheim and San Diego, covering the whole state. Stephen has been in solar and storage since 2019, and came up through traditional solar sales. Mady came up through operations and completed Porsche Consulting’s Operational Excellence program. Solari Storage began focusing exclusively on battery storage in November 2025.

Why we only work in California

Knowing your utility, your rate plan and your city’s permitting office is most of the job. A company operating in twelve states knows none of those things particularly well.

California is where our experience is, and it is where the rules are strangest. Export credits collapsed under NEM 3.0, evening peak rates are the highest in the continental United States, and rebate budgets open and close without much notice. Keeping that straight for one state is a full-time job. We would rather be genuinely good here than adequate across several.

Stephen Waltrip

Co-Founder, Solari Storage Stephen has been in the solar and storage industry since 2019. He came up through traditional solar sales and watched the same pattern play out deal after deal. Panels were sold aggressively while storage, the piece that actually makes the economics work in California, was treated as an afterthought. That gap became the foundation of Solari Storage. Today he leads a battery-first company focused on helping homeowners qualify for the strongest incentives, rebates and funded programs available, so they can complete or retrofit their systems with high-performance storage. His approach prioritizes long-term value, true-up savings and grid resilience over selling more panels.

Mady Jacobs

Co-Founder, Solari Storage Mady built her career on a single conviction: most companies don't fail on ambition. They fail on systems. She came up through operations, completed Porsche Consulting's Operational Excellence program, and spent years applying continuous improvement and process optimization to a fast-growing production company. She founded Solari Storage in January 2026 to modernize how homeowners access energy independence. She builds the systems this business runs on: how a job moves from the first call to the day it comes online without anything being dropped.
